Landscape development Schaan Town Center

In the centre of Schaan, the phenomenon of the «heat island effect» is a parameter that needs to be included in the planning of the landscape. To counter these unwanted effects the present landscape concept focuses on the potential offered by the centre of Schaan. Green structures provide important space for physical activity, recreation and communication benefitting our health and wellbeing. Green areas, trees and water regulate the climate and can improve the quality of life in Schaan.

Sustainable, high-quality meeting places, attractive green structures and optimized pathways are the main goal of the landscape development concept for the centre of Schaan. The clear design of the exterior areas upgrades the green squares and parks as well as the green spaces and roads.

Green pocketparks and micro squares invite strollers to stay and rest. In addition to shady trees and cool water elements, retention areas are included in the project as ecological components. According to the motto «Schaan Green Blue» the municipality of Schaan will be given a new face and become even more pleasant to live in.
