Günterstall Study Contract, 2nd Place

The influence of the cultural landscape gives Kaltbrunn a picturesque quality. The gently rising and falling slopes reflect the changing history of the landscape.

The visitor arriving from the railway station is guided by elegant walkways lined with flowering cherries. Intersections are marked by stately fruit trees and the paths leading off from them are lined by half-standard fruit trees. The varied topography is reflected in the squares and meeting places. In the village centre high quality materials have been used to created attractive recreational areas.

A comprehensive network of central walkways and cycle paths, as well as hard-surfaced country paths, has been designed to blend in with their respective surroundings.
