Three modern courtyards were designed with a lot of attention to detail for the Construction Department of the Municipality of Vaduz and the Liechtenstein Red Cross. As early as in ancient Rome this type of architecture was very popular and to this day courtyards are serving as social hubs, havens and places of retreat. These urban oases in Vaduz offer seating accommodation outdoors and invite people to take a break in the fresh air.
The fountain system is the central element of the whole new building. The mossy oak trunk with its burbling water enjoys great popularity and is designed as a link to the Rhine river flowing right behind it.
Elevated meandering plantations blend into the rectangular area and peripheral creeping plants complete the space design. In addition, the court surfaces stand out with their special features. Natural flagstone with planted joints makes the space seem even bigger. Surfaces with various textures provide an exciting dynamism to the whole project, as the areas in the centre appear lighter and peripheral areas darker.
The new building project of the Liechtenstein Red Cross and the Construction Department of the Municipality of Vaduz offers its staff and visitors alike eye-catching green havens to rest and relax and get some fresh air outdoors.
