The redesign of Vinomnapark is a forward-looking response to urban challenges such as the urban heat island effect and the need for social cohesion. By combining history, ecology, and modern urban planning, a multifunctional park is being created that enhances the quality of life for the residents.

Strengthens both population and biodiversity.

The project is divided into three areas: Vinomnaplatz as a vibrant meeting place for cultural events, Vinomna Park with quiet and active zones, and the nature-oriented playground of the Markt primary school. Extensive tree plantings, flower-rich meadows, and water features provide cooling, recreation, and ecological diversity.

A key design element is the ground-level fountain in Vinomna Square, surrounded by shady trees and seating. Within the park, a monumental sequoia tree makes a striking statement, while diverse schoolyard plantings create habitats for insects. The square's sustainable water management system is based on sponge city principles, featuring permeable surfaces and targeted rainwater infiltration.

The playground offers children creative nature experiences with shaded areas, a drinking fountain, and a surface for chalk drawings. Existing trees were preserved, and new planting areas enhance the overall experience.

Vinomnapark demonstrates how green infrastructure, cultural heritage and social functions can be combined in a sustainable urban space – a model for climate-adapted urban development.
